The Controller is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the organization, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, maintaining accurate financial records and providing insights for strategic decision-making. Key Responsibilities
Financial Management & Reporting (50%)
- Provide leadership and support to all accounting operations, including A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition.
- Oversee semi-monthly payroll processing.
- Own the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements and cash flow statements.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, IFRS or other relevant accounting standards.
- Lead the monthly, quarterly and annual closing processes.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances and opportunities for improvement.
Budgeting & Forecasting (5%)
- Support budgeting & forecasting.
Internal Controls & Compliance (15%)
- Design, implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure the accuracy of financial records.
- Ensure compliance with local, state and federal government tax regulations, audits and reporting requirements.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors, tax authorities and other financial stakeholders.
- Research technical accounting issues for compliance.
Team Leadership (20%)
- Manage and mentor the accounting and finance team.
- Establish performance goals, provide ongoing training and conduct performance evaluations. Meet quarterly with team members to review progress on development plans.
- Lead weekly accounting team meeting.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
Cash Flow & Treasury Management (5%)
- Support cash management.
Strategic Partnership (5%)
- Collaborate with senior management to support business decisions with financial insights.
- Drive financial efficiency and cost-saving initiatives across the organization.
Required Skills & Abilities
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- CPA, CMA or equivalent certification highly desired.
Experience
- Proven experience (5-10 years) in accounting or finance, with a track record of leadership roles (min 3 years).
- Thorough understanding of US GAAP and accounting principles.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting software and ERP systems.
- Experience in financial planning, analysis and reporting.
- Experience providing financial support for business acquisitions (preferred).

Pay Scale:
$120,000 – $135,000 per year
