OnQ is looking for a Production Coordinator to support the Sr. Production Manager in tracking and planning Production activities.  Candidates will have strong mathematical abilities as well as some familiarity with Production techniques.

A successful Production Coordinator is well-organized, has a great eye for detail, ability to analyze and assess production lines, and excels in communication. They must be comfortable with Excel, Google, and SmartSheet forms. They may occasionally be called upon to work with warehouse production personnel to pack out and prepare jobs for shipment. Skill level requires moderate computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office products, especially Excel.

The goal is to ensure that Production runs in a smooth and organized manner, and to address and minimize problems on the production floor.

This position will report to the Sr. Production Manager in the OH office.


Key Responsibilities

  • Work well within a team

  • Assist the Sr. Production Manager with Production planning and evaluation tasks

  • Perform preliminary assignment of tasks to Production Lines based on anticipated Capacity

  • Able to understand complex BOMs and interpret them well enough to recognize and communicate potential issues that may arise during production

  • Run Time Studies to estimate time required for current and future Production activities

  • Assist the Sr. Production Manager in identifying and evaluating personnel who may be a good fit for the Jr. Line Supervisor position when one is available

  • Assist the Sr. Production Manager in evaluating the progress of Jr. Line Supervisors to help determine if/when they are ready to be hired on as mid-level Line Supervisors

  • Lead lines if a Line Supervisor is out sick, on vacation, etc.

  • Enforce rules and best practices on the Production floor

  • Lead Production activities and determine next kits/tasks for lines when Sr. Production Manager is unavailable

  • Troubleshoot Production issues by using BOMs, receiving documents, Print Production Specifications, and other pertinent information as available

  • Act as a backup for the Production Line Coordinator by keeping track of the Production tasks and labor on a daily basis, including allocation of associates and kits and quantities produced, when the Production Line Coordinator and Sr. Production Manager are not on site

  • For complex projects/BOMs, check the staged materials against the BOM to ensure all items are correct

  • Assist in preparing complex items for Production (pre-counting and batching items, especially when items are easily confused)

  • Find or make items when a Production line is in need of items, labels, etc.

  • Run lines when capacity requires an extra Line Supervisor or a small task to be completed (should only be necessary periodically)

  • Effectively communicate with all levels of management

  • Alerts management to unsafe conditions in the warehouse

  • Other duties as assigned


Required Skills & Abilities

  • Familiarity with Production techniques

  • Willing to help within all areas on the production floor and other depts\

  • Knowledge of retail industry – preferred

  • Some people management background is a plus
