Retail Industry Luminary Stuart Armstrong Joins the OnQ Board of Directors
HAYWARD, CA – (June 4, 2021) – OnQ, a leading manufacturer of custom retail displays, today announced that Stuart (Stu) Armstrong has joined the company’s board of directors. The appointment – which became effective June 1 – marks the first time someone from outside the company has been recruited to join the board.
Stu has an extensive background in the retail space, dating back to the 1980’s when he helped bring about mass adoption of the industry’s very first computerized planogram system. Over the subsequent four decades he held leadership roles at a range of companies serving the retail and consumer packaged goods (CPG) spaces, focused primarily on shopper engagement technologies and category management best practices at retail. In the early-2000’s he served as president of the Digital Screenmedia Association, while also serving as president and chief revenue officer of ComQi for over a decade.
“Throughout Stu’s career, he’s built a track record of helping organizations play to their strengths, while chasing opportunities to grow their business,” said Paul Chapuis, CEO of OnQ. “That vision and tenacity are welcome additions to the board, and I’m excited to have his voice at the table as we chart an aggressive path forward for OnQ.”
A common thread throughout Stu’s career has been his success in helping brands and retailers use technology and data to connect more directly with customers. This squares perfectly with OnQ’s growing technology practice that bridges the omnichannel gap by incorporating technology into the traditional in-store shopping experience.
“I’ve dedicated my career to understanding how consumers behave – learning how to connect with them and figuring out how to not just make a sale, but to build customer loyalty over the long term,” commented Stu Armstrong on his board appointment. “My worldview on the retail space aligns well with OnQ’s mission to deliver a better shopping experience, and I’m excited to lend my perspective to the board to help the company further its mission and grow the business.”
